Youth Perspectives

As part of The Truths of Institutionalization project, 15 youth from across Canada each met with and interviewed a survivor to learn about institutionalization through their lived experiences. This exercise gave youth participants a more grounded understanding of human rights issues for people with intellectual disabilities and the impact of institutionalization in Canada. Here you can read their reflections on what they learned and how they hope to inform the next generation of young people and spark conversations around inclusion.
